Dave and I came across these at a flea Market a few weeks ago.. and I sneaked a shot of them.. the second set that I have not pictured left no doubt as to who they would fit.. I found them more than a little disturbing.. and checking the mans other items and his prices.. we decided that he didn't really want to sell anything.. he was just letting his status as a racist be known..

You have lots of memes here! Boy that basil looks good! Sorry Mr. Linky wasn't working....he's working now! Thanks for hopping on Things in a Row!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, by the way!
Happy anniversary Patsy! That is awesome! I love your photos. This was a very cool post and you covered lots of memes in an exciting way!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed my visit and seeing so many neat and interesting things in your life.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I have always loved that quote by Lewis Grizzard! What a wonderful writer! I'll be laughing all night. When I moved to Chicago from Atlanta, I received one of his books, and inside he had written, "Judie, there ain't no grits in Chicago!!" He was right.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. I appreciated your assessment of the so-called merchant at the flea market. My hubby and I love old crusty things, but some things have too much history it seems. Happy Anniversary to you both!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!

happy Anniversary! Yes, those are very disturbing, the shackles, I suppose they are. They should be in a museum! Lovely autumn photos. {:-Deb
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary from another October 'bride'!
ReplyDeleteThe shackles are a horror from another time, and if they serve the purpose of awakening young minds to the need to be vigilant against racism, then they should be on display forever.
What a beautiful array of photos, all poignant in their own way. Congrats on 17 years! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! What neat photos! Loved all of them.
