Take a day off and get a month behind?!

Unique Weekend Challenge-

Church~

Dave and I spent the day Saturday with a few friends/co-workers deep in the woods... along the Savannah river.. at Crab Orchard Plantation.. we meant to leave earlier but wound up staying till near midnight..
The wonderful world of GPS seemed to be behaving as it pointed to what looked like he dirt road we had been advised to take instead of the way we came in.. a short cut they said..  twenty two miles of dirt road and saying road is being very lenient.. in some places I bit my lip to keep from screaming out loud.. but  along this spooky abandoned trail we saw several mother deer out for strolls in the starlight with their spotted babies..and for just a second caught sight of a big buck.. we also passed four little wooden churches.. that leaped from the darkness as our headlight struck them.. they appeared to be forgotten and yes they were spooky rising from the thick trees..  I can't wait to go back to the plantation.. but I will not be following the GPS Trail!

  4. Hello, Patsy. The plantation journey, with churches leaping and deer strolling, would make a poem - so many images rise up in the mind of the reader

  6. Lovely mosaic!! I'm glad you did get a photo of the church, finding places like that is a bit creepy on a dark road but wow!! Love it, enjoyed your Mosaic!
